We only had a handful of correct answers for last week’s Mystery Photo of the iconic McGillicuddy Block at the corner of Lisbon and Ash streets in Lewiston. The building, and its sister building, the Osgood Block, to the right. were designed by acclaimed architect Jefferson Lake Coburn. He was behind several other prominent buildings in town including the Healy Asylum on Pine Street. An ornate copper plate sits at the top of the McGillicuddy Block building with a date of 1856, but the official date of the building’s completion is 1893. In a random drawing from all the correct entries, Aidan Richman of Portland and Lewiston was picked as the winner of a $25 Hannaford gift card.
