WEST PARIS – West Paris Public Library will host ‘Community Knitting for All Ages’, a free three-week beginner/intermediate instructional series for all ages beginning Saturday, September 9.

We proudly welcome local artist Donna Marshall of West Paris as our facilitator. As a teen, she learned to knit and crochet and fell in love with both. Donna has experimented with cotton, wool, and acrylic yarns.
Donna says, ‘Winter’s coming! Time to knit those mittens, socks, and scarves! Let the fun begin!’

This series will be held in person at the Library. Classes are from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the following Saturdays:

  •  September 9: Concentrate on learning basic knitting techniques and stitches for beginners. Learn to read a pattern.
  •  September 16: Choose a pattern to create.
  •  September 23: Work on individual projects. Troubleshoot any knitting problems.

There is no charge to participate. Everyone will need to bring one pair of size 8, 9, or 10 knitting needles and a skein of 4-ply wool or acrylic yarn.

To register, call 207-674-2004 or email librarian@westparislibrary.org.
