The Agalan club of the Elm Street Universalist church met this week with Mrs. Leon D. Rollins of Summer Street, Auburn, to make plans for the season’s work. A series of whists are to be given and a bazaar held early in December.
50 Years Ago: 1973
The Garden Club of the Woman’s Literary Union will resume its meeting schedule on Thursday, Sept. 20, at its Elm Street, Auburn, clubhouse. Speaker for the two o’clock meeting will be Mrs. Muriel Saindon of Val’s Flower Boutique and her talk will concern dried and preserved flowers. Hostesses for the afternoon are Mrs. Robert Collins and Mrs. Helen Sovetsky.
25 Years Ago: 1998
(Sun Journal photo) Auburn Fire Department Platoon Chief Wayne Werts, Dave Adams, and Kevin Carroll, look at limited edition firefighter figurines during the Fire, Police and Rescue Patches Swap Meet at Great Falls Plaza in Auburn Saturday morning. Collectors displayed badges, patches and toys from departments from all over the world. Proceeds will be donated to the Auburn Police Blue Christmas fund. The swap meet will continue through Sunday in conjunction with a model vehicle toy show, the WGME Awesome Auto Tour and an antique car and truck show.
