Leavitt (2-0) at York (1-1)
Friday, 6 p.m.
Last week, the Hornets routed the one C South team, Cape Elizabeth, that has competed with them the past few years. The Wildcats handled Wells, so maybe they’re ready to give Leavitt a game?
Mt. Ararat (0-2) at Gray-New Gloucester (0-2)
Friday, 6 p.m.
The Patriots have put points on the board in both games, but have allowed many more. The Eagles, an 8-man stalwart since the beginning, is 0-2, but those losses have been to last year’s state finalists.
Fryeburg (1-1) at Lisbon (1-1)
Friday, 7 p.m.
The Greyhounds have been competitive in both games, while the Raiders followed getting shellacked by Leavitt with a shellacking of Westbrook, 54-14.
Lawrence (1-1) at Mt. Blue (0-2)
Friday, 7 p.m.
The Cougars, off to a rough start to the season, will try to find their footing when they host one of their rivals, the Bulldogs, at Caldwell Field.
Oak Hill/St. Dom’s (0-2) at Poland (2-0)
Friday, 7 p.m.
The Knights have yet to allow a point and the Raiders have yet to score one. Both stats are due to the schedules of the first two weeks. Poland is looking tough and has earned its 2-0 record.
Portland (2-0) at Lewiston (1-1)
Friday, 7 p.m.
Last week, the Weekend Blitz said Lewiston’s 43-0 loss to Oxford Hills in Week 1 probably said more about the Vikings than the Blue Devils. We looked pretty good when Lewiston then beat South Portland. Portland can show if it is more like Oxford Hills or South Portland.
Scarborough (0-1) at Oxford Hills (2-0)
Friday, 7 p.m.
Simply put, Oxford Hills has looked really good so far. The Red Storm weren’t allowed the chance to bounce back from their 41-6 loss to Sanford in Week 1 because their Week 2 matchup against New Hampshire’s Bishop Guertin was suspended at halftime and has yet to be completed.
Spruce Mountain (0-2) at Mountain Valley (1-1)
Friday, 7 p.m.
This game will say more about the Phoenix than their two lopsided losses to last season’s state finalists. The Falcons have been tough in their first two weeks in 8-man Large North.
Dirigo (1-1) at Sacopee Valley (2-0)
Friday, 7 p.m.
The Cougars looked outstanding in the opening week then ran into defending state champ Old Orchard Beach last week. The Hawks are coming off a shootout win over Telstar.
Edward Little (0-2) at Windham (2-0)
Friday, 7 p.m.
Though they haven’t been playing the Class A heavies, the Eagles have looked solid their first two weeks back in A North. The Red Eddies have struggled so far.
Wells (1-1) at Winthrop/Monmouth/Hall-Dale/Kents Hill (1-1)
Saturday, 7 p.m. (at Gardiner)
This should be the area’s best game this week, whenever it is played, wherever it is played, if it is played. The Ramblers so far have had two high-scoring games. The Warriors were roughed up last week, but by a Class C team.
Mt. View (0-2) at Telstar (0-2)
Saturday, 1 p.m.
Both teams are looking for their first win. If their two matchups with Sacopee Valley are any kind of indication, points will be scored in abundance.
