I’m a fifth generation Auburn resident. I was raised here and have chosen to raise my own family here.
I am employed in Auburn and am fortunate to work with many people one might call millennials. Millennials are not teens anymore. They are 20- or 30-somethings raising their own families.
The constant concern I hear is housing. Gainfully employed, well-intentioned members of our community who are afraid of not having a place to call home.
I’m not better than my young colleagues; I just started earlier. I can’t imagine trying to secure adequate housing for my family in the current climate. I find the people who don’t appreciate the seriousness of this issue are the ones secure with a home.
I support Jason Levesque for mayor because he understands the challenge and is willing to do something about it.
Change isn’t easy, but it’s necessary for our future.
