AUBURN — Abdihakim “Dayow” Daud scored twice in Edward Little’s 4-3, double-overtime win over Brewer in KVAC boys soccer action Saturday.
Ben Cole and Thiago Linhares also scored for the Red Eddies (6-3). Shukri Hassan had two assists in the victory and Ngengele Adolphe had one.
Kyle Horr, Nick Godfrey and Josh Schneider found the back of the net for the Witches (2-5-2). Cayan Philbrick had an assist.
Logan Martin-Mayo made one save for Edward Little and Grady Vanidestine made nine saves for the Witches.
MT. BLUE 4, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0: Trent Beaudoin and Gage DeCarolis each netted two goals, and the Cougars (4-3-1) shut out the Falcons (2-7) in Rumford.
Nate Zeliger had two assists for Mt. Blue, while Eli Walker and Jose Gutierrez each had one.
Mt. Blue goalie Chase Ranger stopped three shots. Mountain Valley’s Ben DeSalle stopped 14.
WAYNFLETE 0, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0, 2OT: Tristan Cuttler made a key save in each overtime session as the Patriots (4-4-1) played to a scoreless tie with the Flyers (5-3-1) in Gray.
Cuttler finished with 11 saves overall, while Nico Kirby countered with seven saves for Waynflete.
GIRLS SOCCER
WAYNFLETE 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: The Flyers (6-4) built a 3-0 lead in the first half on goals by Lucy Hart, Naomi Rice, and an own goal in a win over the Patriots (3-7) in Gray.
Ayla Stutzman made four saves for the Flyers, while Abby Joyce stopped six shots for the Patriots.
Waynflete held a 11-10 edge in shots on goal as well as a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks.
EDWARD LITTLE 6, BREWER 2: Gabby Gerry potted two goals and an assist for the Red Eddies (4[-4-1) in the win over the Witches (0-6-2) in Brewer.
Favour Monday also had a pair of goals for Edward Little, and Avelynn Bowie and Hope Fontaine also scored. Violet Vincent and Layla Facchiano had assists.
Izzy Jalbert made 12 saves to pick up the win.
Allie Salinas and Jillian Ford scored for Brewer.
FIELD HOCKEY
DIRIGO 5, TELSTAR 0: Alyssa Ellis scored two goals and Libbie Errington contributed two assists in the Cougars’ (6-1) victory over the Rebels (1-8) in Dixfield.
Grace Averill, Sylvia Hodsdon and Lana Waite also scored for Dirigo. Hodsdon and Emily Woods had one assist each, and goalie Keira Kelley stopped the one shot she faced.
Telstar goalie Lindsy Stephenson made 16 saves.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/NYA 3, EDWARD LITTLE 1: Emma Bowden and Amelia Bowie each tallied a goal and an assist in the Patriots’ (4-4) victory against the Red Eddies (6-4) in Gray.
Kenlie Nadeau also had a goal in the win and Olivia Knudsen recorded an assist.
Samantha Poulin made 12 saves for Gray-New Gloucester/North Yarmouth Academy.
Leah Thibodeau scored in the fourth quarter for Edward Little and Micah Joler had the helper.
MT. BLUE 5, CAMDEN HILLS 0: Mikayla Wilcox scored twice as the Cougars (7-2) beat the Windjammers (3-5-1) in Farmington.
Bree Griffin added a goal and two assists, while Lily Huntley and Kali Judkins also scored for Mt. Blue. Grace Allen and Summer Sawyer each had an assist.
Gwen Lesperance had four saves for Mt. Blue and Abby Strout had four saves for Camden Hills.
