The Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre plans to host a Theatrical Makeup Workshop Series starting Saturday, Oct. 14.
Three separate workshops will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Saturdays, Oct. 14, 21 and 28. All workshops will be held at the 30 Academy St. theater in Auburn.
The Gender Bender workshop will lead off the series on Oct. 14. Participants can learn how this subtle art is used, how to apply facial hair effect, and how to alter facial structure to appear more feminine or more masculine, according to a news release from the theater.
Next up on Oct. 21 will be the Old Age session, in which participants can learn how age is constructed for the stage through learning how to age themselves with wrinkles and other effects.
The third and final workshop on Oct. 28 is Horror Makeup — Zombie and Gore Galore! The instructor will demonstrate using makeup to create sunken eyes, gruesome wounds and bleeding effects.
There is a registration fee of $10 for each session along with a lab fee ranging from $2 to $4. While the theater will provide makeup and supplies, participants are free to use their own if they prefer.
