The 2023 Maine Lobster Pot, an ultimate frisbee tournament, is set for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, at Wainwright Sports Complex, 125 Gary L Maietta Way in South Portland.

The event, put on each year by Maine Ultimate, is set to draw college teams from Maine to Pennsylvania. Organizers expect about 2,000 athletes in Portland for the weekend. Players will compete in one of six divisions for a grand prize of $1,000 each, according to a news release from Richard Young with Maine Ultimate.

Maine sponsors are turning out to support the effort, with Tyler Technologies, Revision Energy and Live, Work Maine leading the way. Players and guests will have access to a number of local food trucks and merchandise booths, including one from Portland Rising, the Maine semi-pro women’s ultimate frisbee team. They’ll also be treated to a tourney central, where they can find food, drink, and merchandise options from the many sponsors who support the tournament.

There is no cost to watch. For more information, visit maineultimate.org.
