I am writing this letter to express my appreciation to the many people in this community and other communities who have reached out to me to express their horror for the action of the Hamas fighters this past week.
The unthinkable action of rounding up Israel men, women and children, looking them in the eyes, gunning them down and burning them alive is unconscionable.
I believe the motivation of this act is not just to gain territory but a commitment to the destruction of the Jewish State of Israel.
The road ahead appears to be only more destruction with many lives lost. If there were some way to work towards a peaceful solution for both countries, it would require leadership, representing the wants and needs of peace-loving Palestinians and Israelis to work towards that goal.
