The cats keep coming, so we’ll keep sharing some here. Silly little Arielle is a very special girl who arrived at the shelter in June. Arielle has some form of head trauma that was caused by a dog, which leads us to believe she might not do the best with super energetic pups.

The trauma causes a few quirks – sometimes she will growl randomly, or spin around in circles when she’s excited or confused. However, with everything she’s been through, she is the most loving cat with a huge personality.

She gets along very well with other cats and does fantastic with kids, too. Arielle loves to play, jump, and most of all, she loves cuddles! Due to her disability, she has issues locating the bathroom at first in new places, as we learned when we put her in our community room, but she has since figured it out and very rarely has problems.

Arielle will need to go to a home that will give her lots of love and provide her with the patience she needs to adjust to a new living situation.

Boysenberry! The sweetest, big boy you’ll ever meet. In the few months that we’ve had him, he has done a big 360 and gone from super shy and scared to extremely loving and beyond happy.

He is living in our cageless community room, which has helped him tremendously to come out of his shell. Because of this, we believe he will do best in a house with other cats. At this time we do not know how he would do with dogs. He will probably need some time to adjust to a new home just as he did here, but once he’s settled in he’s the best kitty ever!

Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills is a no-kill, non-profit shelter and adoption center for cats and dogs, and the holding area for stray dogs for 12 towns in Oxford County.
