WINTHROP — Killian Pillsbury scored twice and Mt. Abram defeated Monmouth 6-0 in the Mountain Valley Conference boys soccer championship game Thursday and Charlie’s Field.
Sam Cockerham, Morgan Thibodeau, Bear Rollins and Brennan Mitchell also scored for the Roadrunners. Cockerham also had two assists, while Rollins and Payton Mitchell had one apiece.
Monmouth goalie Ezekiel DeLorme made 10 saves, while Mt. Abram’s Logan Dube and Trey Reed each stopped one shot.
The Roadrunners (14-0) go into the Class C South playoffs as the No. 1 seed. They’ll host NYA (3-11) in the quarterfinals.
The Mustangs (12-1-1) are the second seed in D South. They’ll open the postseason with a home game against Temple (4-10).
MVC GIRLS SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP
MARANACOOK 2, HALL-DALE 1: Hope Bell’s go-ahead goal with 6 minutes left lifted the Maranacook girls soccer team to a 2-1 win over Hall-Dale in the Mountain Valley Conference championship game in Readfield.
Maranacook (14-0-1) has defeated Hall-Dale (10-5) three times this season, all by one goal.
Hall-Dale opened the scoring in the first half when Hayden Madore converted a corner kick. Marie Benoit earned the assist. Maranacook’s Phoebe Bell knotted the score with 20 minutes left, assisted by Alice Ferran.
