DEAR SUN SPOTS: Are you looking for some new-to-you winter clothes, household items, and linens at fantastic prices? Come to the fall rummage sale at St. Catherine of Sienna Church at 32 Paris St. in Norway on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9-11:30 a.m. The $1 bag sale begins at 11 a.m. Please bring your own bags.

In addition to clothes for the whole family, there will be at least two rooms full of household items where you can find just what you have been looking for.

There is ample parking behind the church on Beal Street. The church is equipped with a lift for easy access to the lower level where the sale will be held. — Sandy, no town

ANSWER: It’s safe to say that Sun Spotters have their choice of fall sales to go to every weekend throughout the remainder of leaf-peeping season. Make these events a destination, stop at a local café, and enjoy being out and about!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Maine Franco Genealogical Society researchers using society resources will attempt to identify one individual line of ancestors with dates and places of marriage for up to 13 generations back to France in the 1600s for a flat fee. DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am looking for a mobility scooter for a reasonable price so I can go around the fairgrounds or get closer to the beaches near the ocean. A wheelchair is too much to push over ruts and through sand. — Marion, Greene

ANSWER: Perhaps a reader has one they could loan to you or sell a used one for an affordable price. You could also check SeniorsPlus in Lewiston at 8 Falcon Road (795-4010). They have many resources and contacts.

Another idea is to rent a scooter at Scoot Through Maine (https://scootthroughmaine.com/, 650-1397). They will bring the scooter to you and you can try it out for a few days to see if you like it enough to buy one, or just rent a scooter when you need it.

Did you know Medicare Part B (medical insurance) covers power-operated vehicles (scooters), walkers, and wheelchairs as durable medical equipment. Medicare helps cover durable medical equipment if the doctor treating your condition submits a written order stating that you have a medical need. I believe someone at SeniorsPlus or your primary care physician’s office personnel could help you apply for this benefit.
