Catherine “Scotty” Schweizer

LIVERMORE – Catherine MacDonald-Smith Schweizer, known to most as “Scotty”, was born on March 6, 1936, in Scotland. Scotty passed away peacefully in Florida on Oct. 23, 2022, from dementia. She was 86 years old.

Scotty came to the United States in 1959. She lived on Long Island, N.Y., and Florida before moving to Livermore in 1976 and establishing Scotty’s Ceramics. Scotty traveled throughout New England doing craft shows. She was well known for her hand-painted blueberry and lupine themed ceramic items.

Scotty is survived by her children, Carrie and husband Phil Pike of Livermore, Ray Marrero of Nevada, Nancy Young and husband Dave of England, Alan and wife Chrissie of Florida; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Carolyn of Scotland.

She was predeceased by her infant son, Craig.
