LEWISTON — Paige Cote’s overtime goal lifted the Bates College field hockey team to a 4-3 win over Colby in the regular season finale Tuesday.
Pernilla Shaw scored the game-tying goal for the Mules (4-11, 0-10 NESCAC) with 2 minutes, 25 seconds remaining to force overtime.
Cote, a St. Dominic Academy graduate from Auburn, ended the contest 2:13 into overtime. Cote also had an assist.
Anna Lindeis led the Bobcats (11-4, 7-3) with two goals. Kate McManaman also scored.
Pernilla Shaw scored twice for Colby. Casey Winslow also had a goal.
The Bobcats, who have won four straight games and eight of their past nine, advance to the NESCAC tournament and will host a quarterfinal game Saturday.

COLBY 2, BATES 0: The Bobcats’ (3-12-1, 0-10 NESCAC) season came to a close with a loss to the Mules (6-6-2, 2-6-2).
Eduardo Casanova scored in the 20th minute for Colby. Bates kept it a one-goal game until Lleyton Bristow scored in the 89th minute.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
BATES 1, COLBY 1: Charlotte Jones scored in the final minute to earn a tie for the Bobcats (3-8-4, 1-7-2 NESCAC) against the Mules (5-6-4, 1-5-4) in Lewiston.
Jones’ second goal of the season, scored at the 89-minute, 39-second mark, was set up by Meave Parmelee.
The match was scoreless until Abigail Jarvi scored a goal for Colby 70:48 into the game. Madison Genser assisted on the goal.
Both teams’ seasons come to an end.
