RUMFORD – Joseph Volkernick, Jr., 64, died Saturday Oct. 21, 2023, at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was a resident of Wyman Hill Road in Rumford.

Born in Rumford on March 9, 1959, he was the son of Joseph and Barbara (Haskell) Volkernick, Sr. Joe was a graduate of Rumford High School and worked as an electrician for NewPage Paper Mill in Rumford.

Joe was a member of the Webb River Sportsman Club, Eagles and the American Legion. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing with his special friend. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and four-wheeling.

Joe is survived by a sister, Terry Volkernick, of Rumford.
