I’m voting for Jeff Harmon for Auburn’s mayor, and for different at-large and Ward 5 Auburn city councilors. Here is why.
The current mayor is completing his third term. In that time he has handpicked a City Council, Planning Board, Auburn Water District, and other boards to ensure a majority of votes to promote his initiatives.
Many of these initiatives are contrary to the will of Auburn’s citizens. One in particular, promoting development around Lake Auburn, has cost Auburn Water District ratepayers in excess of $130,000 in legal fees, charges that should be paid by all taxpayers.
New leadership would encourage us all to stand behind or object to initiatives without fear of repercussions. “Government for the people, by the people.”
I hope voters join me in support of Jeff Harmon, Adam Platz, Ryan Smith and Stefanie Mahr Damien on Nov. 7.
