I am writing in the hope my fellow Auburn residents vote for Leroy Walker for Ward 5 city councilor on Nov. 7.
He has done so much for the New Auburn area, from saving the St. Louis bells to spearheading the new clock tower and Anniversary Park, where the Hello-Ween event and Santa’s arrival to New Auburn are yearly.
Also, as the mayor’s appointee to head the Age-Friendly Community Committee, Leroy has sponsored free Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day events and other meals during the year, clothing giveaways, a food drive and free potatoes for those in need (paid for by Age-Friendly and the city of Auburn).
We now have benches and trash receptacles on Main Street, as well as wheelchair charging stations in various locations in Auburn.
I hope residents vote for Leroy Walker, Ward 5 city councilor, on Nov. 7.
