To all people of Lewiston and Maine,As two who grew up in Maine and revere its people, we are devastated and in despair over the horrific, unfathomable and sickening massacre that we all now must face.
Our annual visits to what we still consider our home remind us of the beautiful and loving people of Maine who cherish and are grateful for family and friends.
We grieve with all of you. We cry stinging tears for all who have lost their loved ones and friends. We grieve for the children in this peaceful town whose lives are now complicated by the fear and terror this senseless event has brought into their lives.
We pray for the courage to turn the tide against this madness of allowing citizens to have access to the means for senseless and devastating mass murder and the absence of laws to prevent such horrific events.
We are heartbroken for all of you.
