Having known David Chittim for many years, I was delighted to learn that he is running for Lewiston City Council.

David’s professional training as an engineer, as well as his extensive municipal service in Lewiston and nearby communities, clearly qualify him as the perfect person to assist Lewiston’s continued physical and economic development.

I must admit, however, after carefully following our City Council’s so-called “deliberations” in recent weeks, that David’s most compelling qualification for me is the fact that he listed as his very first priority “promoting civil discourse.”

I hope voters join me in supporting David Chittim as someone who can help to refocus the Lewiston City Council’s attention where it belongs: on making Lewiston an even better place for all of us.
