The Twin City Jr Thunder of Auburn, a U8 full-ice mite travel team, had an impressive showing this past weekend at the annual “Mighty Lobster” tournament at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts, going 4-1 and winning the Mite-C Championship.

After an impressive win in game one, the Jr Thunder fell to the North Andover Massachusetts-based Islanders team Friday afternoon 5-4 in a close matchup. The boys won their next two games on Saturday by a combined 17-1 score placing them in the finals on Sunday against the Islanders.

Sunday morning, the boys were pumped up to #WinItForLewiston and came out firing early.

Led by second-year Jr Thunders Carver Keach, Corbin Martin, and Caleb Gauthier, the Jr Thunder had the chance to avenge their 5-4 loss from Friday against the Islanders. Quick goals by Keach gave the Jr Thunder a 2-0 lead heading into the 2nd period, and they closed it out for a 7-2 win to become Mite-C Mighty Lobster Champions.
