Veterans Day
LOCKE’S MILLS — Jackson-Silver Post 68 will conduct its Veterans Day Commemoration on Saturday, Nov. 11. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., the ceremony commences at 10:30. The public is invited to observe and remember the services to the Nation of their community and next of kin. It is an opportunity to pass on to succeeding generations, especially school-age children, the patriotic tradition of sacrifice that is necessary to preserve our lives, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

WEST PARIS — The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will hold its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Finn-Am Hall at 8 Maple Street in West Paris. Following a brief business meeting, members of Tunnen Iloa will perform a short program of seasonal music on their kanteles. As always, refreshments abound on the coffee table and all are invited to attend.
