Althea
Althea is looking for her angel… one who believes in second (or fourth) chances.
Althea is 10 years old and is a dream kitty in almost all ways.
– She’s beautiful (and the distinctive hair-free eyelids are enchanting)
– She’s soooo affectionate and loving.
– Her long hair! It’s divine
– At just 6 pounds she is petite and sweet
– She is so cuddle-able and has a wonderful personality.
The only way she’s not a dream kitty? She’s been returned 3 times for peeing outside her litter box. We do not have an answer for the cause of this behavior. She uses her litter box at the shelter. We’ve had various tests done to rule out a medical cause and have not found any medical concern. Althea is an indoor kitty and we don’t think she would enjoy or do well with outdoor living. This sweet and petite senior girl is looking for a very special and patient person with a quiet home, who will give her
another chance and perhaps think outside the box if she begins to pee outside the box. We think a quiet home with little to cause stress would be best.
Althea’s adoption fee is waived for an approved adopter who is ready to fall in love with this very sweet and lovable girl and give her a loving home for her retirement years. Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills is a no-kill, non-profit shelter and adoption center for cats and dogs, and the holding area for stray dogs for 12 towns in Oxford County. The shelter is located at 9 Swallow Road in south Paris and is open for general visits or cat adoptions on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. (Other days by appointment; dog visits are always by appointment).
Responsible Pet Care operates a thrift shop called Pawsibilities. It is located at 132 Waterford Road in Norway and the store hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All the money raised at Pawsibilities supports RPC.
