SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District’s 2023 annual meeting and luncheon is set for Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Oxford Rec Center, 223 King St. in Oxford.
The meeting celebrates the accomplishments of the district and its volunteers and community partners, and is open to the public.
Starting at 12:30 p.m., there will be time for visiting, followed by a lunch of comfort foods, entertainment, and awards. All proceeds go toward supporting district programs, including providing environmental education opportunities to families and protecting clean water and healthy soil in Oxford County, according to a news release from Chantelle Hay with the district.
Michele Windsor, program manager at Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District, will be the speaker for the afternoon. She will give a presentation about the Agroforestry and Climate Resilience Project the district has been working on at the Tenmile River Demonstration Forest.
Award presentations will be made in the following categories: Conservation Inspired Contractor of the Year, Partnership in Conservation, Partnership in Education, Volunteers of the Year and Photo Contest Winners.
