A six-minute stretch was enough for the Islanders Hockey Club to defeat the Twin City Thunder on Thursday afternoon.

The Islanders shut out the Thunder 3-0 in a USPHL NCDC New England Division game at the Skate 3 Arena in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts.

The Thunder have now dropped four games in a row after being swept by the Utica Jr. Comets this past weekend.

The Islanders scored twice in the final six minutes of the second period and Andrew Miller had an empty-net goal with 11 seconds remaining in the third period.

Max Lundgren scored both goals in the second period. He first tallied an even-strength goal with 5:49 remaining in the middle frame for a 1-0 advantage.

Thunder forward Denis Maliew took a minor penalty late in the second and Lundgren struck on the power play with five seconds remaining for the 2-0 lead.
