WOMEN’S SOCCER
CMCC 5, PSU MONT ALTO 0: Natalie Tracy netted a hat trick and Lakyn Hink had a hand in four goals as the Mustangs beat the Lions 5-0 in a Pool A matchup at the USCAA Division II National Championship tournament Saturday in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
Hink fed Tracy for two first-half goals, then she tallied her first goal early in the second half. Oak Hill grad Alexis Finn provided the assist on Tracy’s third goal, and Hink capped the scoring with an unassisted marker.
Emma Knowles stopped both shots on goal she faced for Central Maine CC. Kiaya Mouer made seven saves for Penn State Mont Alto.
The resounding win gives the top-seeded Mustangs hope of winning Pool A after losing their opener Friday. They’ll need fourth-seeded Penn State Mont Alto to beat fifth seeded Cincinnati-Clermont on Sunday, which would give all three teams in Pool A a record of 1-1 in pool play. The tiebreaker would be goal-differential, with the Mustangs holding a differential of plus-3.
