AUBURN — Judy Hierstein, a Senior College Board member and Auburn resident, plans to present the talk “Gastro Obscura?” Want to Learn More? at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.
“Gastro Obscura,” a book by Cecily Wong and Dylan Thuras, scratches the surface of a mind-bending world of eating. Spanning seven continents, it is a collection of forgotten histories and endangered traditions, obscure experiences, culinary ingenuity, and edible wonders, according to a news release from Diane Clay of the Senior College Board.
Hierstein, a longtime art teacher, will talk about this topic based on the book and her own experiences with food and art. She will share some of her most interesting “obscura.”
