FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Keith Macneir, 64, enjoyed boating, fishing, biking and visiting his son in Maine anytime he could after he retired about three years ago.
His friend described him as a special person who made everyone feel welcome.
The Florida native became an architect and took a job with the National Park Service in the U.S. Virgin Islands, retiring after 10 years.
Keith traveled to Maine at the end of October to celebrate his birthday with his son Breslin Macneir. Father and son spent most holidays and birthdays together.
Keith was at Schemengees Bar & Grille on Oct. 25 waiting for his son to return from a union meeting for work.
There will be a celebration of life for Keith on Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 2-5 p.m. at Southport Raw Bar and Restaurant.
