WATERVILLE — Bates College won a nail-biter over rival Colby on Wednesday.

Elsa Daulerio scored scored the game-winning basket with 64 seconds remaining to give the Bobcats a 55-54 victory.

Daulerio, a sophomore from Harpswell, finished with a career-high 20 points. She was the lone Bobcats (7-1) player to record 10 or more points. Teammate Sophie Spolter chipped in nine points.

Kate Olenik had a chance to give the Mules a lead and probably the game but her shot did not fall with six seconds remaining. She led Colby with 18 points, and Adaobi Nebuwa dropped in 14 points.
