GREENWOOD — Jackson-Silver Post 68, co-sponsor of the Oxford County Kora Shrine Club’s Feztival of Trees 2023, is proud to announce that this year there will be more trees, at least double the number of previous years, with each tree containing valuable merchandise and/or redeemable credit cards/vouchers. The Post will be transformed into the North Pole’s venerable toy workshop, with the jolly and merry famed couple in residence for selfies. A children’s craft area for the production of Christmas ornaments, coloring a Christmas picture, or writing letters to Santa, for $2.00 is only one of the featured events. On Saturday, December 9, at 09:00 hours (9 a.m.) also for $2, Santa and Mrs. Claus will host a Storytime with hot chocolate and cookies. There will also be a 50/50 drawing. This is a cash-only function.
There is spacious parking and free admittance to all. The Unit 68 Auxiliary Canteen will be open to provide delicious snacks and non-alcoholic beverages at reasonable prices.
Doors open on Friday at 16:00 hours (4 p.m.) until 20:00 hours (8 p.m.), Saturday 08:00 hours to 20:00 hours (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.), and Sunday 08:00 hours to Noon. The drawing for the trees will commence at 13:00 hours (1 p.m.), on Sunday. ‘An Old Fashioned Christmas’ is back at Post 68, and it’s bigger and more exciting than in previous years.
