Season outlook: The Edward Little/Leavitt team adds Poland to the co-op this season. The state runner-up and defending KVAC champion boys  squad will be led by Chase Leonardo, Cameron Lemieux, Gavin Holbrook, Isaac Raymond, Jack Martel, Matthew Tabet, Leif Walker and Bjorn Sandberg. Coach Scott Morrison said the boys will be looking to defend their KVAC title and should be competitive at states again. Morrison expects all the newcomers on the girls team to be key swimmers this season, and for the girls squad to be competitive with most KVAC swim league opponents this season and earn points at the state meet.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER PATRIOTS

Returning athlete: Senior — Ian Scott.
Season outlook: After qualifying for the Class A state championship last winter, Ian Scott will look to make another appearance this season. He finished last season 18th in the 100 butterfly.

HEBRON LUMBERJACKS

Class: A
Returning athlete: Girls: Junior — Emma Frumiento.
Season outlook: Emma Frumiento, the 2021-22 All-Region Girls Swimmer of the Year, should be a contender at the Class A state championships again after placing second in the 50 freestyle and seventh in the 100-yard butterfly last winter.

LEWISTON BLUE DEVILS

Last year’s results: Boys: Sixth at KVACs; Girls: Fifth at the KVACs, 15th at the state championships.
Returning athletes: Boys: Seniors —Saleban Abdi, Mason Scardoni; Junior — Heliclenio Dozolo; Sophomores — Hamdi Mohamed, Ritchie Ray. Girls: Juniors — Carelle Ninganza, Chloe Trembley; Sophomores — Klara Cloutier, Gabby Roy.
Key losses: Amber Landry (Sun Journal All-Region), Brianna Letourneau (SJ All-Region), Gabby Blais, Yassin Hassan, Jo Jo Mukendi (SJ All-Region).
Promising newcomers: Boys: Junior — Pedro Ndoko Mvunda. Girls: Freshman — Lily Douglas.
Season outlook: The Blue Devils are a small team, but one that coach Troy Boutin said has a lot of heart and a great work ethic. He fully expects both teams to excel in growth and sportsmanship. Gabby Roy, the reigning Sun Journal All-Region Girls Swimmer of the Year is the defending Class A state champion in the 100 butterfly who also palced fifth in the 50 freestyle.

LISBON GREYHOUNDS

Class: A
Returning athletes: Girls: Senior — Lilah Bright.
Key loss: Loressa Potvin.
Season outlook: Morrison said the goal for Bright will be to continue improving her times in her final year of high school swimming. The goal for her is to qualify for individual events at the state championships.

ST. DOMINIC SAINTS
Coach: Scott Morrison (sixth year)
Class: A
Returning athletes: Boys: Sophomores — Brockton Morissette, Joshua Parenteau.
Promising newcomers: Boys: Freshman — Riley Butler. Girls: Freshman — Maddy Bauer.
Season outlook: Morrison expects Riley Butler, Brockton Morissette and Joshua Parenteau to improve and contend for invites to the state championships in individual events. Maddy Bauer, the Saints’ lone girl swimmer, will gain valuable experience at the high school level this season.
