MECHANIC FALLS — The choirs and lectors of St Teresa of Calcutta Parish are hosting ‘Lessons & Carols’, a celebration of song and scripture anticipating the coming Savior. The event will be 2 p.m., Sunday, December 17 at the new Our Lady of Ransom Church, 117 Elm Street, Mechanic Falls. There will be refreshments afterward.
The celebration of Christmas, ‘the Nativity of Our Lord,’ on December 25, falls on a Monday this year. Catholic Mass will be offered on Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, at 4 p.m. at Our Lady of Ransom Church in Mechanic Falls and 6 p.m. at St Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Norway. On Christmas Day, masses will be at 8:30 a.m. at St Catherine of Sienna and 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Ransom. Everyone is welcome to attend these celebrations of Jesus’ birth.
