PARIS — A Norway man was indicted by an Oxford County grand jury this week, charged with using a knife to rob a clerk at the Big Apple Store on Main Street.
Greggory Smallwood, 21, was indicted on a charge of robbery in connection with the Aug. 26 stickup.
Police said that just before 9 p.m. the night of the robbery, Smallwood entered the store, brandished a knife and demanded access to the cash register. The clerk complied and Smallwood fled the store on foot soon after with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Both Paris and Norway police responded to the scene along with deputies from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department. Smallwood was captured in the area just minutes after the heist was reported.
Nobody was hurt in the robbery, although the clerk was evaluated by medics at the store.
Smallwood is charged with a Class A crime punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
