AUBURN — Julissa McBarron paced Sanford, which held off Edward Little for a 49-45 Class AA girls basketball victory Tuesday night.

McBarron scored a game-high 19 points for the Spartans (2-1).

Layla Facchiano had 10 points to lead the Red Eddies (2-2).

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 53, GREELY 43: Izzy Morelli scored 12 of her 27 points in the third quarter as the Patriots (3-1) used a 21-14 run to take the lead for good against the Rangers (1-3) in Cumberland.

Ellie Steele chipped in with nine points.

Cece Berthiaume topped Greely with 11 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL
SANFORD 60, EDWARD LITTLE 51: Tanner McCann paced the Spartans (2-2) with 21 points, and Makai Bougie made five straight free throws in the closing minutes to help Sanford secure a win over the visiting Red Eddies (1-3).

Brady Adams chipped in with 14 points, Bougie finished with 13 and Dylan Gendron had 12 as they combined with McCann for all of Sanford’s points.

Edward Little also had only four players who scored, led by Marshall Adams with 20, Eli St. Laurent with 15 and Diing Maiwen with 10.

LAKE REGION/FRYEBURG/OXFORD HILLS 8, BIDDEFORD/MASSABESIC/OLD ORCHARD BEACH 4: Kadan Neureuther scored in each period, for a total of four goals, leading the IceCats to victory over the Tigers in Bridgton.

Gunner Truman added three goals and Marshall Tibbetts chipped in one goal for Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills. Charlie Herrick earned the win in goal for the IceCats.

Miko Larnerd finished with two goals for Biddeford/Massabesic/Old Orchard Beach, and one goal each was scored by Gavyn Clark and Nick Curro.
