DURHAM – Brenda F. Carver, 76, passed away peacefully on Dec. 11, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Brenda was born on Sept. 24, 1947, in Durham to Forrest and Rita (Smith) Merrill.
She married Robert L. Carver and together they built their home and family in Durham. Brenda displayed unmatched needlework talent by knitting and crocheting everything from clothing to her treasured family Christmas stockings.

A master baker, Brenda spoiled her family with delicious treats and desserts, leaving a legacy of revered recipes. She also enjoyed getting lost in her favorite mystery novels.
On Sundays, you could find her cheering on her beloved New England Patriots.

In her later years, Brenda loved to travel, often wintering in sunny Florida when not in her vacation home in Carthage.

Above all else, Brenda was a devoted, loving and proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory forever are her children, Robert Carver and wife, Gladys, Lisa Farnum and husband, David, and Jennifer DeMascio and husband, David; grandchildren, Alyssa (Rick) Weeks, Monica (Shane) Andrews, Dustin (Heather) Farnum, Samantha (Jon) Robbins, and Samuel DeMascio; great-grandchildren, Hailee, Hayden, Lexi, Ayla, Parker, Brianna and Joseph; and brothers Dawson Merrill and Royce Merrill.

She was predeceased by her siblings Harold, Carleton, Gloria and Elaine.

In accordance with Brenda’s wishes, no services will be held. The family kindly requests privacy during this difficult time.
