DOVER, N.H. — Mackenzie Grenier and Kylee Spugnardi scored three goals apiece to pace Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland to a 9-1 girls hockey win over York/Traip/Marshwood/Noble at Dover Ice Arena on Friday.
Grenier scored twice during a four-goal first period, and Spugnardi potted two of the Red Hornets’ (4-3) four goals in the third. Grenier also assisted on a pair of scores, while Spugnardi had one helper.
Avery Cologna, Grace Ducharme and Ella Labelle also scored for Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland. Helena Moon finished with a team-best three assists, and Spugnardi, Labelle and Kaylee Hudson each had one.
BOYS HOCKEY
LEWISTON 7, ST. DOM’S 2: The Blue Devils scored four times in the final period to pull away from the Saints at The Colisee in Lewiston.
St. Dom’s Ben Dumais scored with 8.7 seconds left in the second period to get the Saints within a goal, 3-2.
Deano Scalia began the third-period scoring barrage with a breakaway goal, then Dylan Blue scored to make it 5-2. Austin Landry and Ethan Blue also scored in the third.
Ethan Blue and Scalia led the way with two goals apiece. Hayden Brown also scored for the Blue Devils.
CONY/MONMOUTH/ERSKINE/MT. BLUE/RICHMOND 2, MARSHWOOD/TRAIP/SANFORD/NOBLE 1: Ray Dineen’s goal with 2:42 remaining lifted Cony/Monmouth/Erskine/Mt. Blue/Richmond (2-1) to a victory over Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble (2-3) at Dover Ice Arena in New Hampshire.
Marshwood took the lead just 1:01 into the game on a goal by Bradley Wentworth.
Cooper Clark tied it midway through the second.
Landon Foster made 33 saves for Cony. Knighthawks goalie Connor Lentz stopped 17 shots in his first start of the season.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
NYA 65, MONMOUTH 27: Graca Bila registered 31 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals to power the Panthers (4-0) past the Mustangs (0-5) in Monmouth.
Ella Giguere added 14 points and Ava Wilkinson scored 10 for North Yarmouth Academy.
Maeve Burgess led Monmouth with 11 points.
WATERVILLE 55, OAK HILL 31: Mara Van Oesen scored 31 points as the Purple Panthers (2-2) won handily in Waterville.
Van Oesen was 11 for 16 from the free-throw line, including 8 for 10 in the first quarter. Waterville led 27-14 at halftime.
Madison Gervais added 10 points for the Panthers.
Mackenzee Wardwell scored nine points and Aubrey McElhaney had eight for Oak Hill (0-3).
BOYS BASKETBALL
OAK HILL 58, WATERVILLE 41: The Raiders pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a victory over the Purple Panthers in Waterville.
Oak Hill broke open what was a four-point game by outscoring Waterville 16-3 in the final period.
PJ Smith led the way for the Raiders, making nine field goals and scoring a game-high 20 points. Eli Desmond and Landen Denis added 10 points apiece.
Chris Nawfel and Derek Couture were the Panthers leading scorers with 13 points each.
