ROCKPORT — Evans Sterling scored 28 of his game-high 36 points after halftime as Mt. Blue rallied past Camden Hills 72-42 in a KVAC boys basketball game Saturday.
The Cougars (6-0) trailed 27-22 after two quarters before outscoring the Windjammer (3-5) 50-15 the rest of the way.
Tyler Abell added 14 points for Mt. Blue, including 11 in the second half.
Will Duke paced Camden Hills with nine points.
CHEVERUS 70, LEWISTON 53: Jameson Fitzpatrick scored 17 points and the Stags (6-1) pulled away in the second half to beat the Blue Devils (1-6) in Portland.
Gio St. Onge added 14 points and Rocco DePatsy had 10.
Mike Klick (14 points) and Deion Jackson (10) reached double figures for Lewiston.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 82, BRUNSWICK 51: Nate Hebert sank five 3-pointers en route to 29 points as the Patriots (7-1) cruised past the Dragons (1-4) in Gray.
GNG built a 31-16 lead after one quarter, then extended it to 51-29 at halftime and 73-41 after three quarters.
Noah Hebert made four 3-pointers and was perfect from the field, finishing with 22 points. Johnny Patenaude added 14 points, and Aidan Hebert had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Trevor Gerrish led Brunswick with 14 points. Keegan Cummings and Brendan Shaw each chipped in with 12.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 70, BOOTHBAY 37: Sammy Calder scored 34 points as the Mustangs (5-1) ran away from the Seahawks (2-6) in Monmouth.
Levi Laverdiere dropped in 14 points for Monmouth, which held a 40-33 lead before outscoring Boothbay 30-4 in the fourth quarter.
Luke Morley led Boothbay with 13 points. Finn Harkins had 10.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 51, MORSE 43: Jace Bessey made his scoring mark multiple ways as the Phoenix (4-1) finished off a back-and-forth matchup against the Shipbuilders (1-5) in Jay.
Bessey poured in a game-high 23 points, including 7 of 9 free throws to go along with five 2-pointers and a pair of 3-pointers. Cai Dougher pitched in with 11 points for Spruce Mountain, which trailed after one quarter and held slim leads after the second and third before making some breathing room in the fourth.
Trace McFarland led Morse with 14 points, with nine of those coming on three treys. Calin Gould added 11.
GIRLS HOCKEY
BREWER/BANGOR/HAMPDEN/HERMON/JOHN BAPST/OLD TOWN/ORONO 6, LEWISTON/OAK HILL 1: Jordin Williams had a hat trick in the Pioneers’ (6-2) win over the Blue Devils (2-4) at Penobscot Ice Arena in Brewer.
Paige Oakes finished the game with a goal and an assist while Delaney Carr and Meghan Delahanty also found the back of the net.
Ella Davis had two assists and Izzy Brideau also had a helper.
Lewiston scored in the first period, on a goal by Kylie Dulac with an assist from Emma Berube, and the game was tied 1-1 heading into the second period.
