The meeting time for the Androscoggin Historical Society has been changed as a result of the energy crisis, according to Clarence C. March, curator of the Davis-Wagg Museum.

The usual meeting place for the Androscoggin Historical Society is the Davis-Wagg Museum, located on the top floor of the Androscoggin county building and on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Mr. March reported that at the request of the county commissioners no meetings are to be held in the county building after the 5 pm closing in order to save on heat and lighting.

After celebrating his 80th year as an employee of Hahnel Bros., 96 year old Emil Schott is still working the books as the company’s assistant treasurer.

Schott, who will turn 97 on Valentine’s Day, still punches in everyday at 7:30 am at the Lewiston sheet metal and roofing company.

Last April, the company threw a party for its most venerable employee, but it wasn’t a retirement party. Schott said. He’s already had three in the last 30 years, and I’m still there, he said.
