BRIDGTON — On December 21, increasingly recognized as National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, Molly Ockett Chapter, NSDAR donated over 300 hand warmers to Opportunity Alliance’s PATH Program. The Project for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) team provides outreach to those who are experiencing homelessness in York and Cumberland Counties. Christine Thomas accepted the donations, sharing, ‘The Opportunity Alliance works directly with the homeless population; these folks are in our service and we see many at our office daily as well as our case workers serving this population in the community through our outreach program. We will get these into the hands of folks who need them.’ Molly Ockett Chapter members placed hearts on each hand warmer package to counter the dehumanization of homeless persons.
