LOVELL — The Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library plans to continue its summer speaker series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, featuring Dr. Peter Ellison, a Lovell resident who will take a look at COVID-19 from an evolutionary perspective.

Ellison is the John Cowles Research Professor of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University and a member of the National Academy of Sciences, according to a news release.

Thinking about pathogens as evolving organisms and about the factors that affect their evolution can help people to better understand COVID-19 and to think about the future of human epidemiology, according to Ellison.

This event will be held in person at the library , 227 Main St., Lovell, and simultaneously on Zoom.
