KENNEBUNK, Maine (AP) — A woman is dead in the Maine town of Kennebunk after she was shot by a police officer.
The Maine attorney general’s office was called to Kennebunk after the shooting, which occurred about 9 p.m. Sunday.
Police say 39-year-old Katherine Paulson confronted officers “with deadly force.”
She was then shot and killed by Officer Joshua Morneau.
No further information about the circumstances of the incident is immediately available.
Police say Morneau has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard practice after an officer involved shooting.
The attorney general’s office investigates all shootings involving a police officer.
