100 Years Ago: 1921

Saturday morning found the house nearly sold out for the Sousa concert in Lewiston, Tuesday evening, and Mr. Pettingill is arranging to have all the extra seats put in along the sides that can be managed. He has engaged a train of electric cars to bring the band from Augusta to Lewiston, after the afternoon concert in that city, and two trucks to transport their baggage.

50 Years Ago: 1971

Auburn Health Officer, Mrs. Constance Dudzic, R.N., said today everything is set for Sunday’s oral polio clinic, at Central School. The clinic will run from 1 to 3 pm. The immunization is available even for those who have already had the polio series.

25 Years Ago: 1996

St. Theresa’s Church in Mexico is celebrating its 70th anniversary Saturday, Sept. 21.  A potluck supper at the church hall will follow the 4 p.m. mass. Those who want to participate may sign up at the back of the church. Parishioners who have been involved with the church for nearly 70 years are invited to share their memories about the early days. Christmas balls and candle holders with a sketch of the church will be offered for sale.
