- Brendan Harvey of Hartford slides his line under Lake Auburn ice while fishing with a group of friends during the first day of the open water fishing season on Friday. Harvey, Jeremy Wilcox of West Paris, Jim Wisser of West Paris and Jamie Collette of Hartford started fishing at 5 a.m. and landed two salmon and two lake trout by noon. Fishermen use conduit pipe to feed their bait out away from shore when there is little or no open water.
