John R. Hodgson Sr., 86, of Rumford is recognized Sept. 19 by Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice for his service during the Korean and the Vietnam wars. Besides the framed certificate, an American flag pin was also presented. RUMFORD — John R. Hodgson Sr., a veteran of the Army and the Navy, was recognized recently for his service during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
The 86-year-old, dressed in his Navy uniform, was presented with a framed certificate of appreciation by Paul Dupuis, a volunteer with Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice.
Hodgson was also given an American flag pin, which his son, U.S. Air Force veteran John Hodgson Jr., had the honor of pinning on his uniform in a ceremony at his father’s home.
Family and friends attended the recognition service, which included 14 veterans.
