PARIS — Mt. Ararat mustered a 1-0 road victory over Oxford Hills in KVAC Class A field hockey action Thursday at Gouin Athletic Complex.
Paige Witwicki scored the lone goal for the Eagles (7-3-2) off an assist from Audrey Marchildon in the fourth quarter. In goal, Piper Cohen saved four shots to help secure the shutout victory.
Vikings (8-5) goalie Gabby Wright saved six shots.
ST. DOMINIC 2, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Bella Pelletier had a goal and an assist as the Saints (10-0) shut out the Hawks (2-8-1) in Auburn.
Lorelei Bonney also scored for St. Dom’s. Pilar Hewey saved all four Sacopee Valley shots in the win.
Amber Barrett saved eight shots for Sacopee Valley.
GIRLS SOCCER
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 2, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Jaden Boulanger scored with 20 seconds left in overtime to complete the Falcons’ (5-5) comeback against the host Phoenix (2-10) in Jay.
Mountain Valley trailed at halftime before Madison Dow tied it off an assist from Myckayla Bright. Justice Gendron made four saves in goal.
Tateum Leclerc scored in the first half for Spruce Mountain. Goalie Emma Towers turned away 12 shots.
HALL-DALE 3, BUCKFIELD 0: Three different players scored as the Bulldogs rolled to the win in Farmingdale.
Lily Platt, Marie Benoit and Lucy Gray each had a goal for Hall-Dale (9-0-0) while Jenna Lee chipped in an assist. Aubrey Gilbert made one save. The Bulldogs outshot the Bucks 24-1.
Ruby Cyr stopped 17 shots for Buckfield (5-5-1).
BOYS SOCCER
POLAND 1, ST. DOMINIC 0: Talen Langevin scored from Lucas Kelly just before halftime for the game’s only goal as the host Knights (2-8) edged the Saints (1-9) in Poland.
Poland goalie Trevor Robbins “commanded his defense,” according to Poland coach David Coyne, in earning the shutout with 14 saves. The Knights sent 29 shots at the St. Dom’s net.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 1, DIRIGO 0: Bender Doelman scored the game-winner with 2:29 left in regulation to lift the Falcons (1-0) to their first win of the season against the rival Cougars (1-9) in Dixfield.
Zach New turned away 13 shots in the shutout, while Loegan Hodgkins made seven saves for Dirigo.
VOLLEYBALL
MESSALONSKEE 3, LEWISTON 0: Sage Cormier filled up the state sheet in the Blue Devils’ (1-10) straight-sets loss to the Eagles (6-6) in Lewiston.
Cormier was 10-of-11 serving, a perfect 12-for-12 hitting, and also collected six digs, three kills and two blocks.
Theresa Shaw added nine digs and two kills while displaying perfect serving on seven tries and hitting on eight chances. Maddie Oliveira notched three aces and four assists, while Zoie Cote recorded two aces and three digs.
