AUBURN — Breanna Wing, the Auburn native who appeared next to Margot Robbie in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon A Time in . . . Hollywood,” has landed a part in the upcoming biopic, “Being the Ricardos.”
The film, directed by screenwriter/director Aaron Sorkin, follows the relationship between comedienne and sitcom star Lucille Ball and her then-husband, “I Love Lucy” co-star and bandleader Desi Arnaz, played by Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem, respectively. Wing has been cast as “Chorus Girl Angie,” who appears in a flashback scene when Lucy and Desi begin their romance.
This marks Wing’s second role in a major motion picture, having previously starred in numerous short films and an episode of Amazon’s “Transparent.” Wing had been cast as “Cheyenne the hippie hitchhiker” by Tarantino himself after he had seen some of the short films she was in. Wing also appears in the Adam McKay comedy “Don’t Look Up” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, which will be available for streaming on Netflix on Dec. 24.
Her first foray into acting was as a student at Edward Little High School, where she participated in the drama club. Wing secured her first internship in the art department of 2008’s “Iron Man 2” after moving to California for college and now lives in Los Angeles.
“Being the Ricardos” was released on Dec. 10, is playing at Railroad Square Cinema in Waterville through Tuesday, Dec. 21, and will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime on Dec. 21.
