At TruStrength Athletics, we recognize the importance of clean energy for our business and our community.

Clean energy is an important part of a healthy lifestyle and a productive business, reducing air pollution and lowering our electric bills. With support from a federal grant, we installed our solar power system in 2020 to offset our carbon footprint, and to show other local entities that it could be a profitable and responsible choice for them as well.

The solar panels at our facility offset between 75 to 80% of our electric energy usage, which has been all the more beneficial to our business given the rising cost of energy in recent months. Our members appreciate our commitment to a clean future for our community, and the savings we earn from our solar system can be reinvested into positive user experiences for members.

Our solar power system has been hugely beneficial for our operation, and we hope to see other local businesses follow our lead in the coming years. To ensure this happens, it is important that our state and national governments continue to invest in clean energy solutions.

The clean energy tax credits contained within the pending Build Back Better Act are a great example of the type of support needed to grow clean energy in Maine, and I hope people will join us in urging Maine’s Congressional delegation to support continued federal clean energy incentives.
