Daria Jones washes a client’s hair Monday afternoon at her salon, Luxury in the Hood, in the former Mary’s Candy Shop on Main Street in Lewiston. She opened the salon this month offering full-service hair care, facials, makeup and natural nail service. She also offers continuing training for licensed cosmetologists. She uses ammonia-free colors and is committed to being environmentally conscious. She is working to become certified as a Green Circle Salon, committed to fighting beauty waste and climate change. She is from Boston and laughed when she heard people call Lewiston the hood. “Being from a real hood I thought this was an appropriate name,” she said.  Russ Dillingham/Sun Journal
