SABATTUS — A 14-year-old local boy suffered scrapes and bruises Monday afternoon when he was struck by a car while crossing Crowley Road, patrol officer Richard Stanton of the Sabattus Police Department said.
The boy was waiting beside the road for his mother to pick him after his bicycle broke down, Stanton said. After the bike was loaded into his mother’s Chevrolet pickup, which was facing east, he crossed the road and was struck by a Mazda sedan driven by Richard Pullen, 57, of Lewiston who was driving west toward Grove Street, the officer said.
The accident ocurred shortly before 4:30 p.m.
The boy was transported to Central Maine Medical Center, Stanton said, and Pullen was examined by medical personnel.
