HALLOWELL — The Harlow plans this month to present ”Explorations,” a solo exhibition of mixed media paintings by Brunswick Artist Erin Seegers.

Explorations will open Friday, June 10, and be on view until Saturday, July 23, at the 100 Water St. gallery. The Harlow will host an opening reception from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 10.

The Harlow will also host two additional programs coordinated with this exhibit, including an artist talk at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 and from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, June 17. Erin Seegers and Spindleworks artist Tarah Cram will host a mixed media sketchbook workshop at the Harlow.

All events are free and open to the public.

Seegers states about her intuitive process, “I view my art as a practice. A practice of inquiry, an opportunity to connect with the mysterious perceptions of time, language, structure, void, relationship and the curious, and the inexplicable elements of being human,” according to a news release from the gallery.

Seegers’ works are abstract, bold in color and design, and have a richly layered surface.

The Harlow is a membership-based nonprofit dedicated to connecting and celebrating art, artists and community in downtown historic Hallowell since 1963. The Harlow is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
