RANGELEY — A production of “Footloose” will bring such classic ’80s tunes as “Let’s Hear It For The Boy,” “Almost Paradise,” and, of course, “Footloose” to the Lakeside Theater stage over the July 4 weekend.

Life in small-town Beaumont is peaceful until a city boy named Ren McCormack arrives from Chicago and challenges its ban on dancing and rock music.

“Footloose” is a 1998 musical based on the 1984 film of the same name, starring Kevin Bacon and Jon Lithgow. It was nominated for four Tony Awards.

Sue Downes-Borko is music director; Susan Hamilton, artistic director; and Pam Ellis, Erin Smith and Susan Hamilton are choreographing the dance routines.

The play will be presented at 7 p.m. on July 1, 2, 4 and 5.Tickets, $15 for reserved seats, are on sale at the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce, 864-5364.
